Mary Whittingham Statement: Exposure is a very important part of photography. It is what creates the image. Mary exposes light to create. To bring forth a world that would otherwise be trapped in her imagination. Mary uses photography to expose her mind, to capture her thoughts and express her feelings. Exposure to Mary is freedom, a way to let her share a world that would otherwise not exist. Through photography, Mary allows you to experience what she sees. Photography is a huge part of Mary's life. Ever since the age of 16 she has become engrossed in a world of chemicals, technology and creation. After exploring it for an art exam, Mary continued to experiment with photography using only a compact camera and online galleries to develop her passion. Mary is constantly growing and learning through her work, always challenging herself and pushing for more. It has always been her dream to see her photography develop into a career, being able to provide people with a personalized service that they will be satisfied and confident with. Mary is currently studying at Bournemouth University for a BA (Hons) in Photography after graduating from college with a National Diploma in Art and Design, specializing in Photography. Mary has provided a large variety of her works in this exhibit, ranging from her most personal to her more professional, to allow you to see the versatility of her photography and her mind.
